The Ohio Natural Energy Institute has compiled a list of 75+ gas and oil-related career opportunities along with descriptions, minimum education requirements, and available educational/training programs. The Institute has also completed a multi-year video project to provide insight into the day-to-day work that can be expected for each position. In order to provide an extensive list of available education/training programs, we are collectively working with more than 90 different Ohio colleges, universities, career centers, and technical schools on training programs specific to the oil and gas industry. We also participate in numerous career fairs, workforce development events, and other special programs around Ohio to promote the workforce needs of our growing industry. This career information has been distributed to thousands of students, teachers, and guidance counselors throughout the state of Ohio!
The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services shows the average wage is $81,749 in core oil and gas related industries, and $70,787 in ancillary industries. In both cases, this is higher than the average wage in all Ohio industries: $51,740.
